I just got back from a spur of the moment trip to NYC. A lucky fluke of my work schedule resulted in 5 days off so I took advantage of the time. I spent two days on my friend's couch in Flatbush and spent my time exploring Brooklyn. Thursday I spent a frigid afternoon roaming around Prospect Park.

I capped off Thursday by walking through Flatbush under this beautiful sunset.
Friday I started my exploration of Mamdani's New York at a cafe in Little Caribbean called Ciao Bella which was recommended to by my friend. After my caffeine high had hit, I walked SEVENTEEN miles all around Brooklyn. It was freezing and windy and glorious. I roamed through Crown Heights, Bedstuy,Bushwick, and Williamsburg. There is an amazing bookshop in Bedstuy called "The Word is Change". I met some talented screenprinters at Bushwick Print Lab who were nice enough to show me around their workshop. I wandered and wandered and wandered, finally collapsing on a loveseat 9 hours later.

Saturday, with my bones and muscles aching, the tempature in the teens, I dragged myself out for breakfast. I hid in my friends apartment until it was time for my train. I explored Moynihan for a few hours. The station was packed as people were fleeing the approaching winter storm. I learned about Alex Pretti on my train back to Baltimore.
